Attorneys and paralegals
For Attorneys and Law Firms
A law-firm workflow designed to reduce incomplete requests, unclear deadlines and fragmented communication.

Built for matters that can’t disappear into an inbox
Each request can carry the firm’s matter reference, authorized contacts, billing information, service instructions and preferred return method. Deadlines and event dates are captured in structured fields and reviewed before acceptance, so timing problems surface early rather than the day before a hearing.
The workflow supports
- Secure document submission with encrypted storage
- Matter and client references on quotes and invoices
- Named authorized requesters and status recipients
- Deadline, filing-date and event-date review
- Documented attempt information
- Concise status milestones and email notifications
- Billing and accounts-payable contacts
- Secure delivery of returns and completion records
Repeat-client or monthly billing arrangements require separate approval and are not created automatically by submitting an assignment.
Out-of-state firms
If your firm needs a Massachusetts witness or defendant served, use the service-specific form and include the issuing court and any local counsel. We review the document, location, timing and authority before assigning work. A subpoena issued in another state usually must be issued or domesticated through a Massachusetts procedure before it is served here; your counsel determines the correct procedure.
Authority, stated plainly
A constable’s statutory authority to serve civil process is limited to the appointing town and to actions within dollar limits set by the constable’s bond (G.L. c. 41, § 92). Larger matters and other locations may call for a sheriff or a court-appointed special process server under Mass. R. Civ. P. 4(c). We tell you at review if an assignment falls outside available authority.
