About
About Civil Constable
A Massachusetts civil process and constable services business built on one principle: review the assignment before accepting it.

An eligibility-first approach
Civil process can involve different court rules, statutes, appointment limits, delivery methods and return requirements. A document that can be accepted in one location may require additional authority in another.
That is why every Civil Constable assignment begins with a review. The review protects requesters from assuming an assignment has been accepted before its document, location and timing have been examined. It also lets us identify missing documents, conflicting dates, special court orders, witness-fee requirements and other issues before work begins.
A Massachusetts constable
Civil Constable is a Massachusetts civil process and constable services business, and its principal holds a Massachusetts constable appointment. Under Massachusetts law, constables are appointed by a city or town, and their statutory authority to serve civil process applies within the appointing municipality, subject to limits that depend on the constable’s bond (G.L. c. 41, §§ 91A and 92). Every assignment is reviewed against the authority that applies to it — the appointment, a court order appointing a special process server, or a rule that permits service by others.
What we are — and aren’t
Civil Constable provides civil process service and documented delivery of legal documents. It is not a law firm, a court, a sheriff’s department or a government agency. We don’t select legal forms, calculate legal deadlines, or decide whether a document is legally sufficient. Our review is operational screening, not legal advice.
How we work
- Sensitive documents arrive through encrypted, access-controlled intake — not ordinary email.
- Every request receives a reference number and a written confirmation.
- Work begins only after you authorize a written scope and quote.
- Attempts are recorded; an attempt is never reported as completed service.
- Returns and completion records are delivered through a secure portal.
